Jeff Smith

Jeff Smith started playing indoor volleyball as an outside hitter for Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. His true love was playing beach volleyball and in 1997 he packed up his belongings and moved to San Diego CA to pursue his dreams. For the last 10 years, Jeff has played professionally on the AVP. In 2001, he represented the USA in the FIVB Tournament in China. 
 
Jeff has a very diverse coaching experience. He has coached as an assistant at the University of Chicago and Christian Heritage College. During his time on the beach, he has coached several of the top women's players on the AVP. His insight and training regiment has allowed other teams to take the next step in becoming a professional athlete on the AVP. Jeff is the Director of 692West in San Diego and he is currently a teacher in San Diego Unified and coaches at Serra High School.

 

     

Bivin Sadler

Bivin began playing beach volleyball in high school and went on to play at Texas Tech University as a middle blocker. He moved to California 7 years ago to pursue a career on the AVP and CBVA pro beach tours full time. Bivin commutes back and forth between San Diego and Dallas. He is a part time coach for 692 when he is in Dallas or San Diego and coached our 14s teams at nationals in Manhattan Beach in 2008. Bivin has been coaching volleyball for 8 years and was a club coach for San Diego Volleyball Club. He is currently working on his Doctorate in mathematics at SMU and the assistant women's volleyball coach. In 2011 Biven will be coming to San Diego for a short time to coach for 692west before going back to school in the fall.

 
     

 

  

 Lisa Rutledge
 
Rutledge played at Arizona, where she was All-Pac-10 in 2001 and a member of the AVCA All-Pacific Region team in 2001 and 2002. She was also a Verizon Academic All-American in 2002.
 
Over the last 5 years, Lisa has established herself as top 10 player of the AVP and is the number one blocker on tour. She is currently competing internationally on the FIVB Tour and is ranked 39th in the world. In 2011, she will continue to play in the FIVB in hopes to earn a spot to play in the 2012 Olympics.
 
 
On top of being a great player, she is an excellent coach for 692 and brings a lot of experience and fun factor to the beach

 

 

 
 
     

Sonny Knight

 
Sonny Knight is one of San Diego's elite indoor coaches for Seaside Volleyball Club and has lead his teams to several top 5 finishes at Jr. Nationals over the last 15 years.

He also earned his AAA beach rating and has qualified into the Manhattan Beach Open on the AVP Tour. Currently, he is coaching several of the top women beach volleyball players that are competing on the AVP and FIVB tour in San Diego.

He brings a lot of  great fundamental coaching to 692 and knows what it take to get to the next level
